Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) is an advanced and highly effective procedure used to remove cataracts and restore clear vision. Cataract occurs when the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy, leading to blurred or diminished vision. SICS involves removing the opaque lens through a small, self-sealing incision and replacing it with a high-quality intraocular lens (IOL).
At our eye hospital, we use modern surgical techniques and precision instruments to ensure safe, reliable, and long-lasting visual outcomes. SICS is especially beneficial for patients with dense or advanced cataracts and provides excellent vision restoration with minimal dependence on stitches.

The SICS procedure begins with a comprehensive eye evaluation, including visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure measurement, and detailed eye examination to determine the appropriate intraocular lens (IOL) power.
During surgery, a small incision is made in the eye through which the cloudy lens is carefully removed. A foldable or rigid intraocular lens is then implanted to replace the natural lens. The incision is self-sealing in most cases, reducing the need for stitches.
The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, is painless, and usually completed within a short duration. Post-surgery, patients are advised to use prescribed eye drops and attend follow-up visits to ensure proper healing and optimal visual recovery. Most patients experience significant improvement in vision within a short period.
